Here we provide answers to a few questions you may have …

Do you offer parking?

Yes we do. There are 6 indoor parking spaces and 2 at the back of the building. This means that indoor parking is subject to availability so if you want to reserve a parking spot in the garage please let us know as soon as you can.

Are towels, bed linen provided for?

Yes, of course. If you need more than we provide, just ask for more.

How are the kitchens equipped?

Our kitchens are not identical but all are equipped with a fridge and freezer, stove, oven, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker (Nespresso), blender, microwave, pots and pans and of course enough cutlery, glasses and porcelain for everybody. We provide kitchen towels, washing up liquid and basic cleaning supplies. Basically everything but the food and drink.

Can we store our luggage at the Opal apartments after we have checked out?

Yes, of course. We have plenty of space in locked rooms for your luggage.

At what time can we check in to our apartment?

The check in time is 15:00 (3pm). If the apartment is available before that time we will text you or send an email to inform you. If you need storage we can keep your luggage until your apartment is ready.

How do we get our keys to the apartment?

In the booking confirmation from us you will be provided with a code to enter the building. Inside the building you will find keyboxes. Detailed instructions to open the keybox is provieded in the confirmation e-mail.

We are usually in the building from 9:00 untill 17:00 (5pm). When you book an apartments it would be appreciated if you could let us know around what time you will be arriving at the Opal. If you arrive in the middle of the night we need to know so that we can be prepared.

If you book our private transport from the airport or elsewhere in Iceland the driver will drop you off inside the building and provide you with your keys.

Can you assist us with booking tours or airport transport?

Yes, we are happy to help you in any way we can. On our website you can hit the “tours and activities” link, browse through many types of tours and book them online.

Do you offer free Internet?

Yes, we have free WiFi.

What is the best way to get from the airport to the Opal Apartments?

We can arrange a private transport for you. A car for up to 4 passengers costs 130 EUR and a car for up to 7 passengers costs for 180 EUR. Our driver will drop you off inside the building and hand you the keys to your apartment.

Also, there are two bus companies that drive more or less every 30 minutes from the airport to Reykjavik. See further: www.airportexpress.is and www.flybus.is. If you take these buses you can ask the driver to drop you off at Hotel Klettur for a little extra fee. From there you only need to walk 50 meters downhill to Opal at Laugavegur 151.

In your confirmation we will provide your with a map and directions if you will be driving yourself.

Do you have all the licenses you need to operate lawfully?

Yes we do.
